COP 29: "New priorities in the green energy sector" scientific seminar was held at Baku Eurasia University

            A scientific seminar entitled "COP 29: "New priorities in the green energy sector" was held under the joint organization of BAAU's Departments of Economics, Humanities and Regional Studies, and Translation.

            Speaking at the opening speech, the dean of the Faculty of Regional Studies and Economics, docent Mutallim Rahimov noted the social and economic importance of holding such an important event as COP 29 in Azerbaijan.

          Reminding that Azerbaijan has approved the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the dean emphasized the important steps taken in the direction of the fight against climate change. He said that the holding of such a prestigious event as COP 29 in Azerbaijan is a logical result of the contribution of our state's strategy of transition to a green economy to the protection of the environment and prevention of climate change at the national, regional and global levels.

            At the event, the report of Sakhavat Mirzayev, chief expert of "Azerenergy" OJSC, "Azerbaijan Scientific - Research and Development Research Institute" LLC, was heard. The speaker, who drew attention to the importance of the event in terms of further strengthening of environmental education among young people, talked about the work done on green energy issues. He said that in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, complex works were carried out to accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources, achieve energy efficiency, reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere, save natural gas, and produce ecologically clean, green energy.

            He noted that thanks to the projects implemented in the field of green energy, firsts were experienced in the country's energy history.
