Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) hosted an interactive seminar titled "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The Role of Gender Equality in Azerbaijani Society," organized by the university’s Student Youth Organization (BAAU TGT) and attended by representatives from the Absheron Women's and Children's Shelter. The seminar, dedicated to the International Day of the Girl Child, aimed to raise awareness about gender equality in Azerbaijan’s society and the role of youth in achieving this goal.
The opening speech was delivered by BAAU’s Vice Rector for International Relations, Dos. Sevda Rzayeva, followed by presentations from various speakers including Fidan Azizova, president of the Student Youth Organization, Zulfiyya Aliyeva, Executive Director of the Absheron Women's and Children’s Shelter, and Zuleykha Khalilova, a member of the gender equality monitoring group.
Discussions focused on the importance of gender equality under the framework of the SDGs, with a particular emphasis on the role and participation of young people in this effort. Interactive dialogues were held, offering students in-depth insights into the objectives of gender equality and how it can be promoted in Azerbaijan. The event concluded with a Q&A session.
