The event titled "Geniuses of words and art: Nizami Ganjavi and Yunus Emre" commemorated the martyrs of the 44-day Patriotic War and spoke about the heroism of our heroic soldiers. Speaking at the event, BAAU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Ph.D., Assoc. Nigar Huseynova presented a plaque to Selcuk Karakılıç, head of the Baku branch of the Yunus Emre Institute, for his contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation. Selcuk Karakılıç emphasized the special role of education.
Saadat Shikhiyeva, associate professor of the Department of General Philology, informed the participants about the fact that Nizami Ganjavi was an Azerbaijani poet, although he wrote his works in Persian.
The event continued with the performance of ghazals by Nizami Ganjavi and Yunus Emre. The musical art part also featured Azerbaijani and Turkish national dances, a scene from Nizami Ganjavi's "Khosrov and Shirin" and a scene from "Khosrov and Farhad's change", and a scene from Yunus Emre's "Yunus Emre and Tapdug Emre".
