Seminars for young people who will vote for the first time were organized in 3 more higher education institutions
With the organization of the Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan and the support of the Central Election Commission (CEC), educational seminars on the right to vote for students who will vote for the first time in the extraordinary presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, scheduled for February 7, 2024, were held in 3 more higher education institutions.
The main goal of conducting educational seminars is to educate young people about the electoral system, the rights and duties of voters, as well as to increase the level of awareness and voter activity of students who will participate as voters for the first time in the upcoming elections.
More than 900 students with the right to vote participated in the information sessions held on December 28, 2023 at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, National Aviation Academy and Baku Eurasia University. In the meetings held with the participation of CEC representatives, young people were informed about the voting procedure, as well as the necessary legal issues they should know before the election day and during the elections, and the students' questions were answered.
It should be noted that the educational seminars previously held at Baku State University, Baku Slavic University, Baku branch of Sechenov Moscow Medical University and Azerbaijan Cooperation University are series in nature and are planned to be continued in higher and secondary educational institutions operating throughout the country.
