The professor of BAAU gave a speech at the invited symposium

Professor Elmira Mammadova-Kekech, Head of the Azerbaijan and World Literature Department of BAAU, participated in the 1974 Cypriot Peace Movement 50th Anniversary Symposium in Lefke, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. At the invited symposium, Professor E. Mammadova-Kekeç gave a speech entitled "1974 Peace Movement in Turkish Cypriot poetry in an eco-critical context". In the report, the issues of ecoethics in contemporary Turkish Cypriot poetry, environmental damage and war protest motives in the examples of artistic creativity of poets such as Özker Yashin and Fikret Demirag were brought into consideration.

President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar presented plaques to the participants of the symposium, including Professor Ilber Ortaylı from Turkey, Professor Ali Satan, Professor Soyalp Tamçelik, Professor Mustafa Serhan Yücel, Professor Babakhan Sharif from Uzbekistan, Professor Grajina Zajac from Poland, Associate Professor Tudora Arnaut from Ukraine.
