Recruitment rules

  Vacancies for administrative positions are announced in the Current vacancies section of the official website of the University (www.baau.edu.az).

The competition for the positions of the head of the department, the dean of the faculty and the professor-teacher is announced by the University in the mass media and on the official website (www.baau.edu.az). 

Candidates wishing to participate in the announced vacancies apply for employment by filling out an electronic recruitment application.

Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan with professional training, scientific titles and scientific degrees, at least 5 years of scientific and pedagogical experience, as well as foreign citizens can participate in the competition for the position of head of the department in accordance with the profile of the relevant department.

Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as foreign citizens with at least 5 years of scientific and pedagogical experience and professional training, scientific title and academic degree, as well as foreign citizens can participate in the competition for the position of dean in accordance with the specialties taught at the faculty.

Professors and doctors of sciences can participate in the competition for the position of professor, and professors, associate professors, doctors of sciences and candidates of sciences can participate in the competition for the position of associate professor.

Candidates with at least 3 years of scientific and pedagogical experience or highly qualified specialists (masters) with at least 5 years of scientific and pedagogical experience, with published scientific and methodological works can apply for the position of head teacher.

Candidates of sciences with at least one year of work experience in scientific-pedagogical or specialty, as well as specialists with higher education (masters) with at least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience or production experience, with published scientific-methodical works can participate in the competition for the position of teacher. Specialists who have successfully completed full-time postgraduate studies, assistantships, as well as graduates with honors in the current year and are inclined to research work, as well as trainee teachers can be appointed to these positions for a period not exceeding 3 years. After the expiration of this period, the specified positions shall be filled by competition in accordance with this Regulation.

Recruitment competition for administrative positions (including department head and dean of the faculty) is organized in 3 stages (assessment of indicators in the electronic application, interview and test exam), for professor-teacher positions in 4 stages (assessment of indicators in the electronic application, interview, test exam and presentation).

The candidate's application is considered within 5 days from the date of receipt and the indicators in the electronic application are evaluated, and if the application is accepted, a notification on the time of the interview is sent to the candidate's e-mail address.

The interview is conducted by the University Recruitment Commission. Candidates who pass the interview are admitted to the next stage. In certain exceptional cases where the suitability of the candidate for the position is fully determined at the interview stage (except for the presentation of lectures on the positions of professors and teachers), the Commission may decide to postpone any further stage.

The degree of suitability of candidates for the position is determined by the University Recruitment Interview Commission at 4 levels: a) general outlook; b) qualification compatibility; c) level of knowledge and training; d) is assessed by checking personal qualities.

General outlook - is assessed on the basis of the candidate's awareness of important events in the world (country) and society, as well as his / her views on these events.

Qualification compliance is assessed on the basis of documents (diploma, certificate) confirming the candidate's education in the relevant field, academic degree and scientific title.

Level of knowledge and professional training - is assessed on the basis of the candidate's knowledge of the interview program for the vacant position, application of theoretical and legal knowledge, ability to use information technology, foreign language skills (if required), professional development, training and certification.

Necessary personal qualities are assessed on the basis of the candidate's general cultural and ethical level, emotional stability, responsibility, purposefulness, honesty, self-criticism, penetration, analysis, communication skills.

A notification shall be sent to the e-mail address of the approved candidate. No later than 3 (three) days after receiving the notification, the candidate must submit the following documents to the Executive Office of the University:

For administrative (excluding working professions) and professor-teacher positions
1 Recruitment application (on the University application form)
2 Personnel record sheet
3 Autobiography
4 Copy of ID card
5 Health certificate
6 A copy of the vaccination certificate (if there is a certificate of immunity or contraindications, those documents)
7 four4 photos in 3x4 size
8 Notarized copy of the document on higher education (diploma and diploma supplement for each of the bachelor's and master's degrees)
Note: A notarized copy of the Azerbaijani translation of the diploma of students studying abroad and a notarized copy of the document (nostrification) issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the recognition of foreign qualifications in higher education must be attached (former USSR member states) Recognition of qualifications is not required in relation to educational documents issued by higher education institutions in the 1991-1992 academic year and earlier)
9 Notarized copy of academic degree documents (applies to those with a scientific degree)
Note: Recipients of scientific degrees abroad must attach a copy of the document on recognition of the degree on the basis of nostrification or re-certification (degree recognition document is not required on the basis of nostrification or re-certification)
10 Notarized copy of documents on scientific names (applies to those who have scientific names)
Note: Those who receive a scientific name abroad must attach a copy of the document on recognition of the document on the basis of nostrification or re-attestation (A document on recognition of a scientific name document on the basis of nostrification or re-certification of persons who received a scientific name in the countries of the former USSR before 01.02.1994 is not required)
11 Appropriately approved list of published scientific and educational-methodical works
12 Workbook (provides a reference for part-time employees)
Note: When hiring on a part-time basis, a certified copy of the current position is required by the main employer.
13 Letter of consent from the main place of work when hiring on a part-time basis
14 Copy of military ID (for men)
Note: Substitution and part-time employment are not required
15 Proof of residence
16 If there is a difference between the surname, name and patronymic indicated in the identity document and other documents submitted, the relevant confirmation certificate
