Sayavush Kamran Gasimov studied at the Faculty of History at Baku State University from 2001 to 2005, after completing his bachelor's degree, continued his studies from 2005 to 2007 at the master's level. He graduated with honors from both programs.

From 2008 to 2011, he studied at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, specializing in "Political Institutions and Systems." He then continued his education at the International Hellenic University in Greece from 2011 to 2012 as part of the European Union's "Erasmus Mundus" program. In 2017, he defended his Ph.D. dissertation in Political Sciences on the topic "The Geopolitical Factor in the System of National Interests of the Republic of Azerbaijan," subsequently recieved his Ph.D. degree in the same year. He is the author of over 30 scholarly articles and has presented at numerous international scientific conferences. Additionally, he designed the curricula for the courses "Modern Problems of Geopolitics," "Theory of Public Administration," and "Political Science" taught at Baku Eurasian University.

He is proficient in English and Russian.

Sayavush Gasimov began his career in 2007 as a lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Baku Eurasian University. He has held various positions, including the specialist in the International Relations Department, head of the department, scientific secretary of the university, dean, and vice-rector for international relations.

Since 2014, he has been the co-founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Innovation and Development Support Public Union, registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

He is the author of 12 projects funded by the Azerbaijan Science Foundation, the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and various international organizations.

By the order of the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the badge of "Advanced Education Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan."

By the decision of the Council of Founders of Baku Eurasian University on September 30, 2024, he was appointed to the position of rector of the university.
