The event was held as part of the "CareerLAB" Network project, organized by the Career and Training Center (CTC) of Baku Eurasian University (BAAU), the Youth Development and Career Center (YDCC) under the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Union of Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations (UASYO), and in collaboration with the university's Student Youth Organization.
The event was attended by representatives from YDCC, UASYO, the Azerbaijan Young Translators Association (AYTA), as well as members of the academic and administrative staff of BAAU, and students from the Translation program of the Faculty of Philology.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs.
n her opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Sevda Rzayeva, BAAU Vice-Rector for International Relations, emphasized the importance of such events in the professional development of students and affirmed the university's ongoing support for projects that aim to expand the career prospects of young people.
Ismayil Suleymanov, Head of the Department for Work with Regional Representations at YDCC, highlighted the significance of such events in raising awareness among young people about career opportunities that align with their specialties. Bakhtiyar Guluzade, Manager for Work with Member Organizations at UASYO, noted that networking and enhancing the knowledge and skills of young people would positively impact their future success.
Following the opening speeches, the event continued with panel discussions. During the panel, AYTA Chairman Ali Ahmadov presented a report on "How Will Career Opportunities for Translators and the Development of Technology Shape the Future of Translation?" BAAU Translation Department French language instructor Gunel Kazimova spoke on "Bilateral Translation in the Oil and Gas Sector," freelance translator Pakiza Gasimova addressed "What Should a Young Person Starting in the Translation Field Focus on in the First Years and What Steps Should They Take?" and professional simultaneous translator Ramal Khosrovzadeh discussed "Professional Perspectives of Simultaneous Translation: Types, Challenges, and the Role of Interpretation in International Events."
The event, which garnered significant interest from participants, included discussions and a Q&A session related to the topic.
It is important to note that the purpose of the project is to raise awareness and motivation among young people about the field they are studying, increase the number of qualified professionals, support the career development of youth, and facilitate their networking opportunities.
