Responsibilities as the Academic Advisor:
- Protect and defend the academic interests of students;
- Present the necessary information and documents related to the organization of the educational process to the students;
- Advise students in group or individually for the development of individual study plans (as well as changes);
- Organize regular academic consultations throughout the year and make appropriate entries in the relevant registration journal;
- Organize the reception of the individual educational plans of the students;
- Ensure timely formation of subject groups by considering the relevant number norms for the university;
- Participate in the preparation of the lesson catalog;
- Participate in the preparation of working educational plans for specialties (programs);
- Control the preparation and availability of methodological materials necessary for studying specialties (programs) and the provision of methodological materials to students;
- Participate in educational work with students;
- Keep in regular contact with parents and keep notes about it in the relevant registration journal;
- Supervise the attestation of students by subject, prepare their academic transcripts on time and submit them to the relevant structural unit and, upon request, to students;
- Explain to students about the possibilities of using the university's electronic educational information system, subject registration and obtaining academic transcripts online;
- Conduct work related to education fee payments of students, ensure payments are made on time;
- Ensure that the students who receive a deferment from the payment of tuition fees comply with the given period;
- Deal with students who have the right to study at the expense of the state budget, accepting their documents and ensuring that they are submitted in a timely manner;
- Participate in the selection of students who will receive scholarships;
- Deal with students who are on academic leave in an appropriate manner;
- Ensure that the "student passport" of the students is processed in an appropriate manner and handed over to the relevant structural unit within the specified period;
- Participate in the work of control commissions organized by the university administration;
- Report on one's work in the specified time and form;
- Perform other functions provided in the job description, as well as the instructions of the dean of the faculty.
Responsibilities and duties as Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Support Officer:
- Investigate equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives and leverage best practices;
- Provide advice and support on issues of equality, diversity and inclusion;
- Assess community needs and promoting community cohesion, liaise with community groups and other relevant organisations;
- Submit semi-annual and annual reports on any discrimination cases to the management;
- Deal closely with complaints and conflicts at the workplace, preventing their occurrence;
- Have up-to-date knowledge of all types of anti-discrimination legislation and to actively use it in practice;
- Develop and deliver presentations and workshops on equality, diversity and inclusion to University staff, students, stakeholders and partner organisations;
- Provide accommodation, assess the needs of students with disabilities and ensure appropriate accommodations to facilitate their equal access to education. This may include arranging for note-taking services, providing accessible formats for materials, or arranging for extended exam time;
- Advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities within the institution, raising awareness among faculty, staff, and students about disability issues and accommodations available;
- Offer individualized support and guidance to students with disabilities, help them navigate academic challenges, access resources, and develop strategies for success;
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and other support services within the institution to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for students with disabilities;
- Provide training and education to faculty, staff, and students on topics related to disability awareness, accommodation procedures, and creating inclusive environments;
- Work on initiatives to improve the overall accessibility of campus facilities, technologies, and services to enhance the experience of students with disabilities;
Maintain confidential records/documentation of students' disabilities and accommodation requests in accordance with institutional policies and legal requirements.
