On May 5, the 3rd International Scientific Research Conference "Heydar Aliyev Summit" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, organized by Baku Eurasian University and IKSAD Institute (Turkey), started its work.

The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by Elgin Habibullayev, the head of Narimanov district executive power, Selchuk Karakılıç, director of Baku Yunus Amre Institute, representatives of various higher education and research institutes, scientists of various universities operating in our country.

The national anthem of Azerbaijan was first played, and the memory of National leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our land from occupation was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Professor Gulzar Ibrahimova, BAAU vice-rector for scientific affairs, informed about the main purpose of the conference and the nature of the presented researches. Speaking about the legacy of Heydar Aliyev, she said that our national leader Heydar Aliyev, who gave impetus to the historical development process of Azerbaijan, played an exceptional role in the destiny of every Azerbaijani as the founder of the independent state. A deep and comprehensive scientific study of the rich heritage of this great personality is of exceptional importance.

Then, Elgin Habibullayev, the head of the Executive Power of Narimanov district, made a speech and said that every nation has genius leaders who played the role of saviors in the history of national freedom and independence. With their determination, those geniuses led their people behind them and played the role of winners in the most fateful moments. The national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, has left a bright and indelible mark on the history of the modern world as a great personality, an extraordinary intelligence, an innate talent, and a wise statesman. 

Speaking at the opening of the conference, director of Baku Yunus Emre Institute Selchuk Karakılıch characterized the personality of national leader Heydar Aliyev from historical, cultural, national and political aspects and noted that he should be given the highest value. He emphasized that a new era in the cultural life of the Azerbaijani people began in the 20th century. This is a period associated with the name of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. 

The conference continued its work in sections reflecting various topics.
