On January 10, 2025, a cooperation agreement was signed between Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) and the Education Development Foundation (EDF) for the "StudentPlus" project. The agreement document was signed by Associate Professor Sayavush Gasimov, BAAU Rector, and Elnur Nasibov, EDF Board Chairman.
The signing ceremony was attended by Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDF; Khanim Dashdamirova, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors; Rasul Hashimov, Head of the Project Management Department; Aysel Maharramova, Chief Specialist of the Department; Narmin Isayeva, Corporate Sales Manager at Kapital Bank; Mahmud Safarov, General Manager for Business Development at VISA; as well as the academic and administrative staff of BAAU.
Opening the signing ceremony with an introductory speech, the Rector provided comprehensive information about the university's infrastructure, faculty, student body, academic programs, and levels of education. He also briefed the delegation on BAAU's efforts towards internationalization and its successful involvement in international projects. S. Gasimov emphasized the significance of initiatives aimed at providing social support to students, highlighting the importance of implementing such initiatives and projects.
In his speech, Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDF, presented detailed information about the Foundation and its activities, the "StudentPlus" project, and the unified student card, including the benefits and discounts it offers. The Chairman emphasized that the project aims to ensure that students across the country have equal access to these benefits and discounts, while also supporting their social well-being.
The Foundation, in collaboration with its partners, has established agreements with over 200 companies to offer students discounts at shopping centers and various dining establishments commonly frequented by students. Additionally, under a preliminary agreement with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, students are entitled to discounts at museums, galleries, and exhibition halls. The Chairman further noted that BAAU is the first private higher education institution to become a partner in the "StudentPlus" project.
Following the discussions, BAAU Rector, Associate Professor Sayavush Gasimov, and EDF Board Chairman, Elnur Nasibov, signed a cooperation agreement as part of the "StudentPlus" project. After the signing ceremony, the delegation concluded their visit with a tour of the academic and technical capabilities provided by the university.
It is important to note that the "StudentPlus" project, implemented as part of EDF's collaboration with Kapital Bank and the international payment technology company Visa, aims to introduce unified student cards. These cards will enable students to access special discounts at various service and dining establishments, with the goal of providing social support.
