Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) is taking a proactive role in the development and implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) policies and strategies, with direct involvement in identifying and addressing key challenges in collaboration with both governmental and regional non-governmental organizations (NGOs). BAAU actively engages with national authorities and regional NGOs to address various sustainable development challenges and find solutions to pressing issues.
In partnership with the Innovations and Development Support Public Union and the Issues of Democracy Development Public Union, BAU has been organizing strategic meetings to discuss these challenges. This collaboration seeks to support regional NGOs in developing policies that advance the SDGs. By working closely with these organizations, BAAU aims to identify their challenges accurately and develop targeted strategies to help overcome them. Part of this initiative includes envisioning potential future scenarios, with and without specific interventions, to prepare for unforeseen situations. Additionally, BAAU is committed to monitoring and reporting on the outcomes of these interventions to ensure positive impacts.
These partnerships also emphasize promoting democratic values and practices within the academic community. This focus on transparency, inclusivity, and active citizenship has been vital in fostering a culture of democratic engagement among students and staff, reinforcing BAAU’s dedication to advancing sustainable and democratic development at both institutional and regional levels.
