An event dedicated to December 18, International Arabic Language Day, was organized by the Center for Arabic Studies at Baku Eurasian University (BAAU). The event was attended by Arabic language instructors from BAAU, Azerbaijan University of Languages, and Baku State University, as well as representatives from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Institute of Manuscripts, the Shams Translation Center, and students.
The opening speech of the event was delivered by Associate Professor Sevda Rzayeva, Vice-Rector for International Relations at BAAU; Associate Professor Salman Suleymanov, Dean of the Faculty of Philology; and Associate Professor Ulviyya Huseynova, Scientific Director of the University's Center for Arabic Studies. The speakers emphasized the importance of the Arabic language in global culture and science, highlighting its growing role in international relations. They also noted that Arabic is taught at numerous higher education institutions in Azerbaijan and extended their congratulations to the participants on this significant day.
The event continued with an artistic segment, which provided information about International Arabic Language Day. A video showcasing the rich history and culture of the Arabic language was presented, followed by the recitation of Arabic poems and performances of songs.
