As a reliable and responsible member of the international community, the Republic of Azerbaijan continuously contributes to the fight against the consequences of climate change. One of the five national priorities for socio-economic development of Azerbaijan until 2030 is defined as "Country of clean environment and green growth". In accordance with that priority, work is being done to improve the environment, restore and increase greenery, and ensure efficient use of water resources and sustainable energy sources. All these indicators are also an indicator of the successful work carried out in the direction of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN in Azerbaijan. The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - the unanimous decision to hold a prestigious event in Azerbaijan, such as COP 29, shows great respect and trust in Azerbaijan by the international community, as well as environmental protection of our country at the national, regional and global levels, is a clear example of appreciation of his contribution to the prevention of climate change.

Guided by Article 109, Clause 32 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" in order to strengthen international solidarity in the global fight against climate change by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Starting from the 20th century, the increase in environmental problems and serious climate changes are also a concern of experts in the economic field. Therefore, as a task arising from the decree, on February 29, 2024, a Republican conference on "Global warming and climate change" was held under the organization of the "Business and Management" department of the Faculty of Regional Studies and Economics of Baku Eurasian University.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, associate professor Sayavush Gasimov, vice-rector for international relations, professor Gulzar Ibrahimova, vice-rector for scientific affairs, associate professor Mutallim Rahimov, dean of the Faculty of Regional Studies and Economics, associate professor of the Department of Biology and its Teaching Technology of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Shabnam Asadova, head of the Department of Business and Management of Baku Eurasian University Head of the Department of Economics is Assistant Professor Matanat Gurbanova. Ilhama Aslanova gave interesting speeches and wished success to the work of the conference.

According to the conference program, after the opening ceremony, sessions were held on sections, and at the end of each section the speakers were awarded with certificates. The conference successfully concluded its work.
