On December 5, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) and Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH).
A meeting was held before the signing ceremony, attended by Associate Professor Sayavush Gasimov, BAAU Rector; Professor Gulzar Ibrahimova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs; Associate Professor Sevda Rzayeva, Vice-Rector for International Relations; Associate Professor Mutallim Rahimov, Dean of the Faculty of Regional Studies and Economics and Professor Yusuf Baran, Rector of Izmir Institute of Technology; Gultekin Gurdal , Head of the Library and Documentation Department.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Sayavush Gasimov provided an overview of the history and mission of Baku Eurasian University (BAAU), highlighting the university's international relations, collaborative activities, curriculum, and material and technical resources. He emphasized the institution's strong commitment to fostering partnerships with foreign universities, promoting student and staff exchange programs, and ensuring that its curricula are regularly updated to align with global standards.
Speaking about the university's recent successes on the international stage, Associate Professor Sayavush Gasimov highlighted that joint projects and programs have significantly enhanced the prestige of Baku Eurasian University (BAAU). He further emphasized that this collaboration will open new opportunities for both institutions.
Professor Yusuf Baran provided an overview of IZTECH’s position and accomplishments within the Turkish higher education system. He highlighted the university's achievements in the fields of natural sciences and engineering, as well as its active involvement in international scientific research, with English as the language of instruction. The Rector expressed his confidence that the forthcoming cooperation with BAAU will be mutually beneficial for both institutions.
