On December 27, 2023, an event dedicated to the scientific creativity and memory of Professor Gara Mashadiyev, a well-known linguist and scientist, who was the head of the Toponymy sector of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi ANAS, who cooperated with Baku Eurasian University at the time, was organized by the Department of Theoretical Linguistics and Turkic Languages of Baku Eurasian University. . The professor-teacher staff of the department and the 4th year students of the Azerbaijani language and literature major of the Faculty of Philology, doctoral and master's students who were Gara Mashadiyev's students, and family members of the linguist took part in the event. The head of the Department of Theoretical Linguistics and Turkic Languages, Associate Professor Zamina Rustambayli, opened the event with a wide-ranging report on the researches of Professor Gara Mashadiyev, such as semasiology, onomastics, semantics of parts of speech of the Azerbaijani language, historical-linguistic analysis of Azerbaijani toponyms. Then Professor Adalat Tahirzadeh, Head of the Department of Azerbaijan and World Literature Professor Elmira Mammadova-Kekech, Teachers of the Department of Theoretical Linguistics and Turkish Languages Ziya Bahmanli, Turana Zeynalova, Sevinj Talibova, Head of the University's Library and Information Center Sima Jafarova spoke. The speakers expressed valuable opinions about Professor Gara Mashadiyev both as a scientist and as a person. Fidan Mashadiyeva, granddaughter of teacher Kara, shared her wonderful memories of her grandfather with the participants of the event. At the event, the scientist's students took a place among the speakers and voiced their opinions about their teachers. The event ended with an extensive presentation prepared by Emin Zeynalov and Zivar Muradzade, students of the Azerbaijani language and literature major of the Faculty of Philology, about Professor Gara Mashadiyev.
