Now the students of Baku Eurasian University will be able to use the newly renovated Library and Information Center and the Computer Center that meets modern standards.
The center was opened with the participation of Rector of the University Nazim Huseynli, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Gulzar Ibrahimova, Director of Yunus Emre Institute (Baku) Selchuk Karakılıç, Deputy Head of Narimanov district executive power Irada Mahmudova, Member of Parliament Aydın Mirzazade and others.
Rector and guests were informed about the conditions created in the center, book fund, electronic library database.
It was stated that the new center differs from the previous one in terms of its size and innovations. According to the decision of the board of the Ministry of Science and Education in September of last year, the renewal of the infrastructure of libraries was included as an indicator in determining the accreditation criteria of universities in Azerbaijan. Therefore, the university has set as its goal the creation of a library center that meets those criteria and meets modern requirements.
Vice-rector G. Ibrahimova said that the library currently has 37,000 books in paper format. Also, the number of electronic books in the database is sufficient: "Based on the existing contract of our university with the Near East University of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, our library has access to 400 thousand scientific books using the facilities of that university. Also, our students can access its database based on the contract with M. F. Akhundov library. We also have rare copies that are specially protected. In our electronic information room, we have many computers with high memory”.
It was stated that the library receives textbooks according to new requirements every year and the University’s priority is to enrich the library fund every year.
MP Aydin Mirzazade also emphasized that the rich library here will make a great contribution to students: "Several foreign languages are taught at the university, students from abroad come and study here. You have a very rich library. You have conferences with the participation of thousands of students. The university of any country is an indicator of the potential of that country. It is very good that we have strong, well-established private universities along with our state universities."
It should be noted that the library of the Baku Eurasian University has been operating since 1992. The library and information center consists of a physical library, an electronic library and a reading room. The center is equipped with a computer and an Internet network, the use of electronic versions of textbooks in the local network is ensured. The main library of the university supplies the reading rooms with all the literature included in the background and daily periodicals.
