In BAAU, an event was held with regard to the commemoration day of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
In BAAU, an event was held regarding the memorial day of Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of our independent state.
At the event, the national anthem was first played, and there was a minute of silence to honor the great leader's memory.
BAAU Vice-rector for scientific affairs, professor Gulzar Ibrahimova, who opened the event with an introductory speech, noted the periods of the great leader's leadership in our republic as stages of construction and progress, sustainable peace and dynamic development.
Later, Elnur Kalbizadeh, an instructor of the Department of Humanities and Regional Studies, Associate Professor, Head of the Caucasus Policy Department of the ANAS Institute of Caucasian Studies, drew attention to some points from the great leader's political life and shared with his colleagues very interesting facts about the process of the withdrawal of the Soviet Army from Nakhchivan.
At the event, the speakers talked about the development strategy of the genius and prominent statesman's leadership of Azerbaijan both during the Soviet era and during the period when our state independence was restored. Heydar Aliyev's coming to power for the second time, at a decisive moment for our country, was once again emphasized as a glorious page of Azerbaijan's modern history.
The commemorative event highlighted the decisive and purposeful activities of President Ilham Aliyev and talked about the end of the 30-year occupation by the follower of Heydar Aliyev's political ideology, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the holding of a historic military parade in Khankendi, and magnificent successive victories.
At the end of the event, the administrative and academic staff of the university laid flowers on the bust of the great leader and expressed their deep respect.
