An event titled "Poetry Day" was organized by the Writers' Club, which operates under the Student Scientific Society (SSC) of Baku Eurasian University (BAAU).
The club's event, aimed at enhancing students' reading and speaking skills and promoting self-expression, was attended by Professor Elmira Mammadova-Kekech, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani and World Literature; Associate Professor Zamina Rustambeyli, Head of the Department of Theoretical Linguistics and Turkic Languages, and students of BAAU.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Orujova, the Chairwoman of the Writers' Club of BAAU, emphasized that the primary goal of establishing the club was to foster greater interest in literature and poetry among students. She also discussed the club's activities and provided information about upcoming events.
The heads of departments, along with the Chairwoman of BAAU TEC, Narmin Nurullayeva, commended the development of a poetic spirit among young people and the growing interest in literature. They emphasized the importance of expanding events in the fields of literature and creativity and wished the Writers' Club continued success in its activities.
Subsequently, Zeynab Babayeva, Deputy Chairwoman of the Writers' Club, delivered a presentation on the prominent figures of Azerbaijani poetry, providing valuable insights into their contributions.
Later, BAAU students added a special touch to the event by reciting poems of their own composition, as well as works by other poets.
The presentations were met with great interest by the participants.
