January 20, 1990 will remain a bloody and glorious page in the history of the independence of the Azerbaijani people. As a result of the irresistible desire for independence and integrity, the Patriotic War, which began in September 2020 and lasted for 44 days, ended on November 8 with the victory of the Azerbaijani Army. The military occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, which lasted for nearly thirty years, ended. With this victory, both January 20 and the martyrs of the Karabakh war were avenged. In her speech, Associate Professor J. Ismayilova also emphasized that the political and legal assessment of the events of January 20 was given in 1994 after the return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to the leadership of the country.
