A comprehensive training on "Inclusive Approaches in Education" was recently held at Baku Eurasian University (BAAU). The event featured a presentation by Nurlana Safarli, the Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Disability Support Officer and Academic Advisor, focusing on the importance of providing equal educational opportunities for students of all abilities – a vital issue in contemporary education systems.
The training introduced core principles of inclusive education, presenting specialized methods for supporting students from underrepresented groups who require unique educational approaches. Topics covered included behavioral guidelines for interacting with students facing challenges such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, autism, and visual or hearing impairments.
Support students participated actively in the training, receiving practical recommendations on applying inclusive approaches within educational settings. Various strategies for implementing inclusive practices were also discussed.
Baku Eurasian University is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment and will continue working with experts in the field. To support this commitment, BAAU provides resources and services for those facing harassment, discrimination, or obstacles to inclusion. The university will:
- Offer accessible ways to report incidents of bias, harassment, or discrimination.
- Provide private assistance and advocacy programs for individuals who experience harassment or discrimination.
- Support mental health services, counseling, and other resources to promote the well-being of the university community.
